good work here, boris.

i like the hierarchy you establish.

i like how accessible you make the publication using these faqs, with lots of touch points and contact channels.

a few suggestions:
all caps are problematic, for reasons the study book describes. i don't recommend them, and they tower over the smaller text, diminishing the more important, specific questions.

for the first question: i recommend "What is Pitchfork.com?" because it is an "it" and not a "who"

"daily, Web-based" > delete "out"; you are "precise" to one decimal point, not specific.

"I am a published journalist. How do I write for Pitchfork?" >> suggest going with only "How do I write..." In answer, "If you are a published journalist, X; if you are not published, Y." this will consolidate the two answers. most will not be published journos, presumably, so this more quickly gets to the answer a majority will need.

is the term "album" still used? with all the MP3s and such? that's kind of cool.

a good plan. 600 words is REALLY brief. I recommend a longer template for your reviews (unless 600 is typical for pitchfork reviews, in which case i guess your bound). i also suggest more than one, not all for the first week, but in presenting a series of reviews, you give readers (and pitchfork editors) a better look at your sensibilities, your writing, your emphases and criteria. full speed ahead

an interesting audience to write for, and in so many ways. i like how you've honed right in on the challenge: being informative at a very high level, expert level, but not being snarky, elitist. yes, a demanding audience, so the bar is high.

clarity is a noble goal. i can see a post-it on your laptop: "Can I write it more clearly?"

what's the competition? where else can Music “snobs”, * Record buyers, * College radio stations and * Label music executives go to get the information you are providing?

what is a "tastemaker"? pacesetters i get. taste arbiters i understand. making tastes? that i don't get. explain this to me, please.

very nicely done. you have a knack for news headlines. all three of yours would work just fine (sans the periods), are publishable, and vast improvements over those they fix.

"Assume the positon" doesn't even relate. you're right, it's not clever. it's not even cute.

good. you wonder why they didn't present it the way you have -- all of the bands at a glance. so much easier to read, to make choices. good.

nice work here, boris, especially the first and third.

one niggle: no need to put periods in headlines. they aren't punctuated except when they are questions or quotations.
